The product

What is Back to Zero?

An app that counts the days your company and each person on your team have gone without a sale, and resets them to zero with every sale. Every morning it emails the whole team that scoreboard, the month's goal and who closed, so selling often becomes a habit.

Is it a CRM? Do I have to drop mine?

It isn't a CRM and you don't have to drop yours. Back to Zero doesn't manage opportunities, contacts or stages: it only logs closed sales to keep the team focused on closing. Your CRM stays the place for follow-up.

More in the guide “Do I need a CRM?” →

Who is it for?

Sales teams of 1 to 50 people who already follow up their own way (by hand, in a spreadsheet or in a CRM) and want to sell more often: agencies, professional firms, distributors, service and software companies, among others.

Can I use it on my own?

Yes. When you sign up, choose "For me" and you're your own company, for free.

Which languages and currencies does it support?

Spanish and English. Each company chooses its language, currency and time zone; the daily email goes out in the company's language.

Sales and calculations

What's the difference between a recurring and a one-time sale?

A recurring sale is billed periodically for as long as the customer stays (retainer, subscription, service plan) and is logged with its monthly amount. A one-time sale is billed once (project, equipment, course) and counts only in its month. Recurring revenue adds up every month: 250,000 a month is 3,000,000 a year.

More in the guide “Recurring vs. one-time” →

What is MRR?

Monthly recurring revenue: the recurring revenue your team has added during the year plus the month's one-time sales. It's Back to Zero's goal because it grows with every customer who stays.

More in the guide “What MRR is” →

How many sales do I need to reach my goal?

Divide each rep's MRR goal by your average deal size: with a 300,000 goal and a 50,000 deal that's 6 sales a year, one every 61 days; with a 5,000 deal it's 60, one every 6 days. The Back to Zero simulator does the math year by year, with renewal and team growth.

Can I log sales from past days?

Yes, back to January 1 of the year you signed up. You can log the year's sales even if you start mid-year, and the counter recalculates on its own.

More in the guide “Getting started” →

What if two people closed a sale together?

You log a single sale with each person's percentage (for example, 60% and 40%). It resets both people's counters and each adds their share to their own goal.

More in the guide “Days without a sale” →

What do I do when a recurring customer cancels?

Record the end date on their sale. It keeps counting through the month it ends and stops the month after, so your MRR stays real.

Team and daily email

What roles are there?

Admin (sets everything up), Sales rep (sells and has their own counter and goal), Back office (logs sales) and Stakeholder (view only). One person can belong to several companies with different roles.

More in the guide “Getting started” →

When does the daily email arrive?

At the time and on the days you choose; 8:30 a.m. by default. In the afternoon, the back office gets a reminder to log the day's sales.

More in the guide “The daily email” →

Can I try the email before the whole team gets it?

Yes. Every account starts in test mode: emails only reach admins, with "[TEST]" in the subject. Turn it off when the team is ready.

More in the guide “The daily email” →

Does it work for teams with several areas or regions?

Yes, with groups (Team+ plan): each group has its own counter, its goal split by rep and its own email, and admins get a company summary with a ranking between groups.

Pricing and billing

How much does it cost?

Free for 1 or 2 people, no card required. For larger teams there are two plans priced per company, not per person: Team (3 to 10 users) and Team+ (11 to 50, with groups). Paying yearly saves 20%. Current prices are on the home page.

Do prices include taxes? Do you issue invoices?

Yes, published prices already include taxes and the total never changes. In Mexico, if you add your tax details, you get a CFDI invoice for your RFC with VAT itemized.

What if I cancel? And if prices go up?

Your plan continues until the end of the period and then you move to the Free plan. If prices go up, your account keeps the price you signed up with for as long as you keep your plan.

Security and data

Who can see my data?

Only your team, according to their role. Not even our support team can access your account without your permission, which you grant for 24 hours and which is recorded in your activity log.

How is my account protected?

With an encrypted connection, two-factor authentication (2FA) that can be optional or required for the whole team, and the option to sign in with your Google or Microsoft account.

Can I take my data with me?

Yes. You can export your sales, clients and goals at any time, even when closing your account. When you close it, you have 30 days to reactivate it before it's deleted.
